Editorial Our apologies to the many members who received the May 2004 Monthly Newsletter more than once. It wasn't an attempt to drill anything into your head, but rather it was just a technical issue, which I hope (really, really hope) has been resolved.

With Krystal out of Big Brother, it seems I will have a little more time on my hands, and I'm spewing because I have yet to see one episode of Big Brother Uncut! Thank god for the Internet! Following in Paris Hilton's footsteps, I'm sure a video of her will eventually emerge and let's hope some better lighting is used. Anyway, according to the latest User Poll, most of you don't care so I will move along!

Last weekend was the Winter Sleepout at the Cserkesz Park that was organised by RIK the HCC Dance Group and the Cserkeszek. I must say it was quite a relaxing, yet fun filled weekend with most of the nights spent around the fire, toasting bread, singing old classics out of tune and drinking so much that you thought it was summer. Some photos from the weekend are up in the Photo Gallery.

If you missed out on the Winter Sleepout, then please come on Sunday the 13th of June (Queen's Birthday long weekend) to the Korona Restaurant for Hétvégi Láz A Koronában!, where you will have another chance to meet fellow YoungHuns members and do a bit of dancing and drinking at the same time. There will be a live band, Left Lane Duo who will bring to you the latest pop, charts and old classics. See the Korona rock like you never have before!

Finally, there is a new Prize Draw courtesy of ClubbersGuestList.com, consisting of 2 tickets to Boat Party - [001]. This double decker boat cruiser will be rockin' on the 19th of June up and down the Yarra. There will be 2 levels, 2 DJ's, finger food, drinks and plenty of good times! For more details and your chance to enter the draw, check out the Prize Draw page.

Angie's Antics I was just looking through the User Poll on YoungHuns one day and I noticed something interesting. The topic in question was whether or not people like the current series of Big Brother (the 4th one). While the most common response was that ‘NO’, people are over Big Brother, the other common response was an enthusiastic ‘YES’, we love it! Everyone always say that you either love it or hate it, talking about Collingwood, Eminem, McDonald’s or anything else. But here, we have proof. Opinion is divided between love it and hate it. The people that love it must be the hardcore fans that watched every episode and thought that Blair and Sarah-Marie were their best friends, while Johnny was a rotten backstabbing liar.

The rest of us, who said that we are sick of the show, must not have been very impressed by the BIG SECRET. I’ll tell you if you don’t already know what it is. But it’s ok, cause it wasn’t very surprising and it wasn’t very big. The secret is that the winner now gets one million dollars. It sounds great, but none of the housemates know. So none of the housemates gets affected and they don’t act any differently. So it’s the same old show and the secret is stupid. We all got cheated. All those commercials about ‘what’s the secret?’ suggested that it was going to be something interesting. Like nominating in front of each other. That would be cool, seeing them start bitch-fights. Instead, what do we get? Snow day! Big deal. Who cares? They played in the snow for 10 minutes then went back to doing nothing.

So maybe most people felt that they got cheated by a promise for a juicy secret in the house, but got nothing. Maybe they just got tired of seeing the same 12 boring people doing the same boring things in every series of Big Brother. Yes! The same 12 people. There’s always a quiet one, a nice but shy one, a loud annoying one, a dumb annoying one etc… It’s only the names that change. Happy watching!

RIK Update Well Ladies and Gentlemen, another month has gone by with the life of RIK. All our Executive committee have been working long and hard at planning the Hétvégi Láz A Koronában! event. Unfortunately the turn out for the Winter Sleepout wasn't to flash, so hopefully this time round you'll all be excited and ready to get involved! Other then that, have a lovely month people and rug up for the winter chill which has now well and truly hit us! With regards to our upcoming event, we've been asked a few questions, so here are the answers:
  • Q. Do I have to book a table because it’s at the Korona Restaurant?
    A. No, RIK has hired the Korona for the night and the restaurant will be closed. The Korona will also be providing the finger food and drinks at the bar. We chose to have this at the Korona because of its warm and social atmosphere. The whole place is set aside for us.
  • Q. Do we all have to sit down at tables?
    A. No, there won’t be many tables (if any) set up. The Korona will be transformed from a restaurant to a party venue. Walk around, dance, mingle, have a drink, grab a bite, you know...
  • Q. So, is this like a dance party?
    A. No, it’s not a dance party by a long shot. The music will be different and finger food will be provided. This event is aimed at getting all of the YoungHuns members together to socialise and have a good time. In particular, the contrast in style is to appeal to the older youth of our community.
  • Q. But it’s an event for the youth right?
    A. Of course, but keep in mind you must be 18 years or older to get served alcohol at the bar.
  • Q. Who’s Left Lane Duo and what music do they play?
    A. Left Lane Duo are a live act that play all sorts of music from pop to rock, the latest charts and old classics. They’re a cover band. They play at a lot of pubs and bars in Melbourne. And no, they’re not Hungarian.
  • Q. Can we smoke inside?
NO, NO, NO! There is a strict no smoking policy inside the Korona Restaurant.
